  • BEFORE driving to trailhead, please stop by the Park Headquarters to pay entry fees & obtain a window tag. NOTE: This meet-up is after business hours, so please pre-pay for a day pass online OR fill out a slip & drop payment at the entrance upon arrival.

  • Sunset on May 9 is 8:14 pm.

Entrance Fees

  • Adult: $5 Daily

  • Child 12 Years and Under: Free

  • IMPORTANT: This meet-up is schedule for after the park’s office hours:
    Please make a day-use reservations online before arriving
    OR fill out an after-hours check-in slip & pay at the Park HQ upon arrival.

TRAIL: 3.8 miles LOOP

Hilly loop hike with 3 cut-off options

  • 1.3 mi. if you take the first cut-off trail (“Barred Owl Path”)

  • 3.0 mi. if you take the second cut-off trail (“Roosevelt’s Cutoff”)

  • 4.2 mi. if you complete the full loop.

Hilly terrain, partly shaded, multiple footbridges. Trail description:

  • Travel the steep hills of Pine Gulch beneath a forest of towering loblolly pines. You’ll also see the remnants of 2015’s Hidden Pines wildfire.”

Bring sunscreen, water, & snacks.
