Biography

Say hello to Hunter Burcaw! The Swiss Army knife of business, leadership, and ministry.

Hunter serves on the SUMMIT Core Team as a partnership coordinator & lead guide. He is a connector & instructor at heart having trained thousands of others in skills like First Aid, CPR, AED, rock climbing, Lifeguarding, wilderness survival, ministry leadership development, and so many other things. Hunter began his journey in leadership with the Boy Scouts of America serving as a youth leader and progressing to serve with the International Scouting Committee. He has been formally trained in leadership through the BSA and United States Army. He is currently working on his Masters of Divinity. Hunter is an Eagle Scout, Religious Affairs Specialist in the Texas Army National Guard, and serves at Calvary Baptist Church on the preaching team.

Hunter believes leadership is best exercised with the attitude of servanthood. To Hunter, “Servant leadership is putting the needs of others at the forefront of your own actions and giving without the expectation of reward.”

Why were you called to this ministry?

“I have always found God in the wilderness, when I am in His creation. My personal mission is to help people find hope in Christ through wilderness adventures, just like I did when I found Christ.”
